BETONG
PILGRIMAGE & Tour
(29 June to 3 July 2024)
Betong, situated in the southernmost region of Thailand along the border with Malaysia, is a picturesque small town celebrated for its delightful cuisine, tranquil hot springs, and prominent attractions such as the Piyamit Tunnel. This tunnel, stretching approximately 1 kilometer, has a history as a former stronghold of the Communist Party of Malaya, doubling as an air raid shelter and food storage facility.
A hidden and lesser-known gem for Catholics is the Divine Mercy Betong Sanctuary. Since the installation of the Divine Mercy statue in 2021, there hasn't been significant development on this sacred site. However, with the steadfast faith of the local community, we anticipate witnessing the miraculous works of God's mercy for the people of Thailand.
