HOLY LAND

PILGRIMAGE
(3 to 13 June 2024)

Journey on the Footprints of GOD

The Holy Land is a sacred site of pilgrimage and reflection for Christians. It is the birthplace of the mystery of our salvation, where the Word of God took on flesh and the message of Jesus Christ was carried forth to the corners of the earth.

Rev. Fr. Dominc Tan
Spiritual director

As you embark on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, you will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. You can visit the places where he was born, grew up, preached, and walked his last journey before he was crucified. This is a transformative experience that allows you to deepen your spiritual understanding and connect with the message of love and salvation that has been carried forth from this sacred ground to the corners of the earth.

  • 3 to 13 June 2024
    (11 Days, 9 Nights)

  • We will start our journey by taking a night flight from KLIA 1 with a layover in Istanbul the next day before finally arriving in Tel Aviv.

  • Upon arrival, we will have an early lunch. Then we will visit the Saxum Visitor Center, a modern facility devoted to enhancing the spiritual experience through multimedia exhibits and guided tours. Next, we will proceed to Stella Maris Carmelite Monastery for Mass.

  • The next day, we will visit Banias, formerly Caesarea Philippi, a site of great significance where Peter professed his faith in Jesus Christ.

After lunch, we will proceed to the Cana Catholic Wedding Church, where Jesus performed his first miracle. Then, we celebrate Mass at the Church of the Annunciation, a site constructed on the exact location where Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary. Right next to it stands St. Joseph's Church, which was built above the carpentry workshop of Mary's husband. If time permits, we will visit the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and Mary’s Well.

  • On the third day, we will travel to Galilee. We will begin with Mass at the Church of the Beatitudes, then visit the Tabgha Church of the Loaves and Fish (also known as the Church of the Multiplication), the Church of the Primacy of Saint Peter, Kfar Nahum National Park (also known as Capernaum National Park), and Magdala's Chapel, a 1st-century synagogue.

To conclude our day, we will enjoy a boat ride on the picturesque Sea of Galilee, the freshwater lake where Jesus is said to have walked on water.

  • In the early morning, we will attend Mass at the Church of the Transfiguration on Mount Tabor, the site where Jesus transfigured in the presence of his disciples. After Mount Tabor, we will go to Bethlehem. If time permits we will stopover at Caesarea by the Sea, also referred to as Caesarea National Park.

  • In Bethlehem, we will attend Mass at the Church of Nativity, and then visit Shepherds' Field. Before entering Jerusalem, we will have the opportunity to shop for religious articles.

After arriving in Jerusalem, we will visit the Church of the Visitation, the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Pool of Siloam.

  • In the morning, we follow the Via Dolorosa through the Old City of Jerusalem. Then we attend Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the site where Jesus was crucified, buried, and resurrected.

After lunch, we will visit St. James Cathedral Church. In the evening, we will aim to join the 5pm processions by the Franciscans at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

At night, we will head back to the Tower of David for the 8:30pm Night Spectacular, an innovative Sound and Light show.

  • Today, we will start at the Cenacle, also known as the Upper Room. Then we will attend Mass at St. Peter in Gallicantu, which is believed to be where Peter denied knowing Jesus three times. Then we will visit the Church of St. Anne, the birthplace of the Virgin Mary, and the Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed a paralyzed man.

After lunch, we will explore the Western Wall Tunnels, a network of underground passages and chambers beneath the Old City of Jerusalem. Next we will visit the Western Wall and Dome of the Rock.

  • Today, we will explore the Mount of Olives, starting with the Chapel of the Ascension, the Pater Noster Church, and the Church of Dominus Flevit, which commemorates the spot where Jesus wept over the future destruction of Jerusalem. Then, we will attend Mass at the Church of All Nations, also known as the Basilica of the Agony. We will visit the Tomb of the Virgin, which is believed to be the burial place of Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Next, we will have some time to shop for religious articles.

In the night, we return to the Basilica of the Agony for a Holy Hour prayer at 8pm.

  • On this day, we will check out of our hotel in Jerusalem and attend Mass at the Church of Saint Lazarus in Al-Eizariya on the way out. This church is located near the tomb of Lazarus and the house of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, according to Christian tradition. Next, we will head to the Mount of Temptation, believed to be the site where Jesus was tempted by the devil.

Then, we will stop at the Ahava Visitor Center for some quick shopping before heading to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. We will have some time to relax and float in the salt-rich water.

  • On our final day, we will revisit Bethlehem for some last-minute shopping of religious articles and make a special stop at the Emmaus Church.

Then we will attend Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Old Jaffa, which commemorates St. Peter's miracles and vision and tour around the city.

Lastly, we will head for the airport and board the night flight to go home. We will transit at Istanbul before we reach KLIA the next day.

  • Home sweet home!
